A9 - 32bit ARM 9 machine from Advantage Six

A9 LogoStu Tyrrell is releasing another new line in RISC OS computers. Good news: they're the first ones to use embedded Adjust-32, the latest, latest version of RISC OS. Bad news: it's being aimed at OEMs again, although "a retail version of the A9 will be available in due course and an announcement will be made when the third party distributor has them in stock".

Examples of the new range include the A9RM, which is a half-width 1U rack mountable ruggedised case, and the A9LOC, which is a wall mounted unit with an 8.4" TFT touchscreen, GPS and GSM/GPRS. Well, wall and "bulkhead" mountable, which makes more sense than a wall mounted GPS unit. No doubt the low power usage and stability of ARM/RISC OS based machines will be handy in situations where mains power and hard drive-based OSs are hard to maintain.

Anyway, there's a press release to check out, and a new website at http://www.thea9.info/

Woo! Does this mean Adjust-32 doesn't need VIDC or MEMC either?

Let's hope that it gets rid of hardware reliance.
