Cybervillage to relaunch

Posted by Andrew Poole on 19:50, 17/3/2005 | , , ,

Acorn Cybervillage LogoAs you may well know, the Acorn Cybervillage was recently taken over by David Bradforth after Stuart Halliday stepped down towards the end of February. Since then, the long-standing RISC OS News and rumour website has been updated very frequently.

On the 12th day of April this year, the Acorn Cybervillage will be officially relaunched with a new look and feel, and a new name. The 'village is currently running a competition in which the first two people to Email the new name of the site in will win a copy of Basic V: A Dabhand Guide (as a PDF). Several domains are already pointing to the Acorn Cybervillage.

will become c011ectorz items.

Anyone ever bought that merchandise?

The main Cybervillage logo will not change - it's part of the corporate identity for Cybervillage.co.uk... and I promise that we'll keep the Acorn Cybervillage Cafepress shop open for as long as theres the costs associated to it at present.

Put it like this, if it's costing nothing to do it why worry about it?

RISC OS Cybervillage is one possible name, as identified by Andrew Poole - which is the other??

c'mon, that wasn't a hard guess. Acorn --> RISC OS is an obvious transition.

There's another potential name tho: that'll take some thinking about. As I said, brownie points for guessing one of the other names

nope... not Archimedes Cybervillage.

It's not got Cybervillage in the title, but it is a registered domain name to me and is currently pointing at The Cybervillage.
